Optional extra minutes past your plan allowance—with a monthly dollar cap you control.
Default: Pay-as-you-go is off when you sign up. We never charge for minutes beyond your plan unless you turn it on and set a cap. For how included minutes and billing work without pay-as-you-go, see Payments & Security.
Pay-as-you-go lets your AI assistant keep answering calls after you use up your plan's included monthly minutes. You choose a monthly dollar cap—the most you are willing to spend on extra minutes in that billing period.
It is designed for busy weeks when voicemail would mean missed leads, without an open-ended bill.
- Self-serve plans (Starter, Growth, Pro) after you are on a paid subscription.
- Not during the Starter free trial—enable it from the dashboard once your trial converts or if you are on a plan without a trial.
- Not on Enterprise—custom contracts use a different billing model.
Extra minutes are billed at your plan's pay-as-you-go rate. Call duration is rounded up to the nearest whole minute (same as your included usage).
Starter
$0.50 per pay-as-you-go minute
Growth Engine
$0.40 per pay-as-you-go minute
PRO Intelligence
$0.35 per pay-as-you-go minute
- Charges are added to your next monthly invoice as a separate line item (processed by Stripe)—not a separate charge after every call.
- Your base subscription fee is unchanged; you only pay for extra minutes when pay-as-you-go is on.
- When spend in the period reaches your cap, billing for additional extra minutes stops and your assistant switches to voicemail mode until you raise the cap or a new billing period starts.
The cap is a dollar limit you set (for example $50 or $200). In the dashboard you will see how much of that cap you have used this billing period.
When you hit the cap, your assistant behaves like it does when you run out of included minutes: callers can leave voicemail, but the AI will not hold full conversations until service resumes.

More detail: Using the Dashboard.
When you use all included minutes, your assistant automatically switches to voicemail mode until your minutes reset or you upgrade your plan. You are not charged extra per minute. That is our default protection.
Common questions
What happens if my card payment fails?
Failed subscription payments follow our normal billing process (account suspension until resolved). Any pay-as-you-go charges already accrued in the period is still part of your invoice per your agreement with us and Stripe.
If I upgrade my plan mid-month, does the pay-as-you-go rate change?
Yes—new pay-as-you-go minutes use your new plan's rate going forward. Minutes already metered stay at the rate that applied when those calls occurred.
Is the raise-cap email link safe to use more than once?
Yes. If your cap is already at the raised amount, opening the link again will not charge you twice or change settings unexpectedly.
Can I set a $0 cap?
A zero-dollar cap means pay-as-you-go cannot accrue meaningful charges—effectively the same as hitting the cap immediately. Use a positive cap if you want extra minutes.
